Do Distant Reiki Attunements Work?
Many people have different opinions on this topic and here I will tell you my
experience and thoughts about distant attunements.
To let you know a little about my own experiences with Reiki, I first became
attuned to Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki in 1993 in an in person class. I took the
other remaining Usui classes in person as well. It was not until much later
(about 8 or 9 years later) that I discovered people were actually using the
internet to also share Reiki with one another.
I was skeptical at first but then I decided to have an open mind and see what
happened. I decided since it had been about 7 years since my last
attunement in person, to give it a try. I mean after all, isn't part of Reiki being
open to new things?
I think that sometimes for some people distant attunements work
better for some people them in person attunements.
The reason I say that is because first off you are in your own home, you are in
an environment that is familiar and comfortable. You are not being distracted
by others receiving the attunement with you, it is just you, being peaceful and
receiving the energy.
I also think that distant Reiki attunements work better for some people
because of their location. I have attuned and taught many people from all over
the world Reiki, whereas without a service like I provided them, they may
have not been able to ever become attuned to Reiki otherwise.
I know there are some traditional Reiki Masters that frown upon distant
attunements and I understand their position and thoughts but mine definitely
differ then them. I know from experience they work and I wholeheartedly
believe that doing a distant Reiki attunement for some people is better then
an in person one. There are many types of people in this world we live in,
some that are hands on people and some that work better at a distant. I think
that to believe that distant Reiki attunements and or sessions are not as valid
as in person sessions and attunements is a sad mistake that some Reiki
masters miss out on.
All that being said, I do want to add that classes are WONDERFUL, nothing
can compare to taking a Reiki class and learning how to work with people
one on one. It is a wonderful experience to have in person classes, but if they
are not available in your area or they simply cost too much a distant
attunement is great too! It can start you off on the path with Reiki and you can
learn by practicing on yourself, your loved ones and such. I truly believe the
knowledge that goes along with being a Reiki master can be shared via the
internet, email's, phone calls, in person, etc.... but nothing compared to
actually practicing it, so learn in the way that suits you best (in person or
distantly) and then read and integrated Reiki into your daily life and you will be
well on your way to being a competent and confident Reiki practitioner.

Flame because it just appealed to me as a
soft energy and it seemed like it called to
me at that time. I prepared myself for the
attunement like my teacher told me to. I sat
in a meditative state and asked my guides
and angels to be around me while I
recieved the attunement.
I really tried to just not hold on to any
expectation about the whole thing and just
allow whatever was suppose to happen, to
just happen. Much to my surprise I felt a lot
of energy in a few minutes after the
attunement started. I could actually feel the
energy as if I was in the same room as my
teacher! It was actually really incredible to
me! I felt like I was actually engulfed in this
purifying, warm silver violet energy flame, it
was absolutely beautiful and energizing.
